Senior housing site

The Santa Clara Methodist Retirement Foundation, Inc. has acquired a 1.2-acre property at 60 W. Hamilton Ave. in Campbell for possible development as low-income senior housing. The property is directly adjacent to Wesley Manor, a 12-story affordable housing facility also run by the nonprofit foundation.

Located near the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Winchester Boulevard, the property is near downtown Campbell and allows easy access to amenities like a grocery store. The site includes the recently vacated 5,078-square foot Wells Fargo Bank building and 57 parking spaces.

Priscilla Haynes, the foundation’s executive director, said in a statement that acquiring and developing property for low-income seniors is a cornerstone of the nonprofit’s mission to preserve and increase the affordable housing stock in Santa

Clara County.

The foundation secured title to the property on Dec. 30. The property, which was acquired for $7.4 million from a private owner, was funded by California’s Loan Oak Fund, LLC.

In addition to its Campbell facility, the Santa Clara Methodist Retirement Foundation also owns and operates an affordable housing site in Santa Clara.
