Carole Martin Clarke died peacefully at her home in Severna Park on September 17, 2018 at the age of 56.

Carole is survived by her husband, Drew; her son Bill Clarke of Dallas, Texas and his fiancée, Anissa McKibben of Bloomingto­n, Indiana; her mother Nancy Martin, of Columbus, Georgia; and her sister Julie Martin Taylor of Decatur, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, William Jules Martin of Columbus, Georgia.

Carole was born on December 20, 1961 in Columbus, Georgia to Jules and Nancy Martin. She graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1984 with a degree in Education and in 1990 she completed a Masters Degree in Education at McDaniel College.

In 1985 Carole married her college sweetheart Drew Clarke and moved to Eldersburg, MD. They also lived in Ellicott City, MD, then Palatine, IL and finally settled in Severna Park, MD in 2005. Carole was a teacher at Bishop John Neumann in Baltimore for several years. Carole was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. The Clarkes enjoyed traveling together, attending concerts and lectures, and visiting family and friends.

Carole will be remembered by all who met her for her joyful energy, warm sense of humor, and keen mind. She was a voracious reader and lifelong learner and volunteer. She loved her dog, Emma, and they worked together providing pet therapy for school children at Rising Sun Elementary School. She also devoted her energies to Partners in Care Maryland delivering programs and services that support the independen­ce of older adults.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 1-5 P.M. at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD, 21146.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home.
