South River downs defending 2A champ Glenelg

Tommi Bresnahan scored the gamewining goal in the second overtime and Darcy Clement found the back of the cage twice as South River edged defending Class 2A champion Glenelg, 3-2, on Thursday.

McKenzie Jamison assisted on the game-winner, Bresnahan had an assist on one of Clement's goals, while Kaitlyn Wallace made 11 saves for the Seahawks (6-2).

SPALDING 3, GARRISON FOREST 2:

lead the Eagles to the win in the match played at Eisenhower Golf Course on Thursday.

Diante Dozier of Meade came in second with a 41 as the Mustangs' team came in third behind Chesapeake Science Point.

Nethmi Weerasingh­e and Emily Zhu both scored a 58 for the Tigers. Branden McGuire shot a 62 for Glen Burnie.

In Tuesday's match at South River, Dozier shot a 44 and was the top finisher. Northeast's Brendan Heptner was a shot back with a 45 and helped the Eagles finish in first overall.

Annapolis was second in the team competitio­n, followed by Meade and Chesapeake Science Point.
