Eliz­a­beth “Libby” Jane Fitch, a res­i­dent of Stevensville, MD, passed away peace­fully on Novem­ber 4, 2018, sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily.

Born Jan­uary 2, 1937 in Ty­bee Is­land, GA, she was 81 years old. Libby was the beloved wife of Paul W. Fitch for 63 years. Her life’s legacy is hon­ored by her five girls, Carol Gal­lagher of Merid­ian, ID, Cathy Black-Gal­lagher of Pasadena, MD, Donna Jones (pro­ceeded in death), Paula Schem­i­nant of Sev­erna Park, MD and Tracy Kar­lewicz of Sel­byville, DE, 14 grand­chil­dren and 17 great­grand­chil­dren.

Libby was a lov­ing wife and mother, al­ways want­ing hap­pi­ness and suc­cess for her chil­dren, grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren. She de­lighted in co­or­di­nat­ing fam­ily events and spend­ing time with loved ones. Her tal­ents were many, she be­came a li­censed cos­me­tol­o­gist and proud owner of “Libby’s Guys and Dolls” beauty sa­lon for 12 years, be­fore mak­ing a ca­reer change and be­com­ing a li­censed real es­tate agent for Long and Fos­ter, re­tir­ing in 1998. Also, she had an in­cred­i­ble artis­tic abil­ity and took de­light in draw­ing and paint­ing. Libby was en­thu­si­as­tic about trav­el­ing and es­pe­cially en­joyed the many places she vis­ited by cruise ship. For years, she was a de­voted mem­ber of the Col­lege Park­way Bap­tist Church, where she met many of her dear­est friends. Her in­flu­ence will for­ever re­main in the lives of all who knew her.

A Me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held on Sun­day Novem­ber 18, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Bar­ranco & Sons,P.A. Sev­erna Park Fu­neral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Sev­erna Park, MD. 21146.
