Bill Loomis

Bill (Wil) Loomis died on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the age of 89. Born in Drexel Hill, PA, Bill graduated from Ursinus College with a BS degree in Physical Education and taught P.E. and coached at Hackettstown, NJ High School. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a physical therapy degree. Bill was a physical therapist at the VA Hospital in Wilmington, DE and at the Delaware Easter Seal Society Clinic in Georgetown, DE. He was a partner in the private physical therapy practice of Burch, Rhodes & Loomis (BR&L), which encompassed ten offices in the state of Maryland. Bill served in the United States Navy after high school and was a member of Weems Creek Baptist Church and Gideon’s International. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Sandra. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Merrifield Loomis, a son; Richard and his wife Vonda and five grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters; Jeanne Miller and Bessie Gorman. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Weems Creek Baptist Church, 600 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD on Saturday, November 17 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
