Cavs set to bring back Dellavedova
The Cavaliers are getting back one of their championship pieces. A feisty one.
The team agreed to a trade with the Bucks that will bring popular guard Matthew Dellavedova back to the Cavs along with forward John Henson and a pair of draft picks in 2021. The Bucks will get veteran point guard George Hill and forward Sam Dekker, a person familiar with the deal told the Associated Press. The Bucks have agreed to trade Dekker to the Wizards for center Jason Smith and a second-round pick.
The swap was still pending league approval Friday night, said a person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the teams had not had the mandatory conference call with NBA officials.
Hill recently returned after missing 11 games with a shoulder injury, and the Cavs had been shopping him.
Dellavedova’s scrappiness endeared him to Cleveland fans during his three seasons with the Cavs, who didn’t re-sign him after winning the 2016 title.
