Severna Park boys, South River girls sweep

Tyler Moran won two individual events and raced on two winning relay teams for Severna Park and Jenny Thompson did the same for South River as the Falcons swept the boys’ quad meet and the Seahawks swept the girls on Friday.

Moran won the 50 freestyle in 23.45 seconds and the 500 free in 5:03.73 and swam on the Falcons’ winning 200 and 400 relay teams. Matt Dalton from Severna Park won the 200 individual medley in 2:03.45 and the 100 breaststro­ke in 1:04.68 while anchoring the 400 relay team. Eoin Lenham won the 100 freestyle in 50.38 and the 100 backstroke in 56:28 for Annapolis. Severna Park (3-0) defeated South River, Broadneck and Annapolis (0-3), Broadneck (2-1) defeated South River and Annapolis and the Seahawks (1-2) defeated the Panthers.

Thompson won the 200 freestyle in 2:03.28 and the 100 backstroke in 1:04.19 while swimming on the winning 200 and 400 relay teams for the Seahawks (3-0) .Sophie Patz won the 200 individual medley in 2:17.19 and the 100 freestyle in 57.98 for Severna Park (2-1). Broadneck (1-2) defeated Annapolis (0-3).

ARUNDEL SWEEPS QUAD MEET:

Richie Osikowicz (200, 500 freestyle), Matthew Arter (200 individual medley, 100 butterfly) and Griffin Anderson (100 freestyle, 100 breast stroke) were multiple individual­s as the Wildcats defeated Meade (67-27), Glen Burnie (81-11) and Northeast (81-6).

Jarod Britt placed first in the 100 backstroke for Arundel, while Chris Jensen won the 50 freestyle for Meade, which defeated Northeast (67-11) and Glen Burnie (67-20). The Gophers topped the Eagles, 42-15.

All three relays were won by Arundel. Chris Knauer won the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly, Teagan Sloan was first in the 100 backstroke and all the Arundel relay teams were victorious as the girls beat Northeast (65-22), Meade (66-27) and Glen Burnie (71-21).

Eden Whiteman of Northeast won the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle, while teammate Layla Tiberio took first in the 50 and 100 freestyles.

Bryleigh Augustin won the 100 breast stroke for Glen Burnie, which topped Northeast (48-37). Meade defeated Northeast (59-30) and Glen Burnie (57-35).
