2 men in­jured af­ter ve­hi­cle strikes tree in Crownsville

Two men were flown to shock trauma in Bal­ti­more early Satur­day morn­ing af­ter they were ejected from their ve­hi­cle when it struck a tree in Crownsville, of­fi­cials said.

The 1:25 a.m. in­ci­dent was a sin­gle-car wreck. County fire of­fi­cials noted the car left the road­way in the 1100 block of Sun­rise Beach Road.

The 38-year-old driver and a 28-year-old man in the front seat were ejected from the ve­hi­cle.

Both suf­fered crit­i­cal, po­ten­tially lifethreat­en­ing in­juries, po­lice said.

A fe­male rear seat pas­sen­ger, 32, was taken to Anne Arun­del Med­i­cal Cen­ter with mi­nor in­juries.

Two Mary­land State Po­lice he­li­copters landed on the grounds of the Crownsville State Hos­pi­tal to trans­port the pa­tients to the Uni­ver­sity of Mary­land Shock Trauma Cen­ter in Bal­ti­more.
