NAVY WOMEN’S TENNIS:

The Navy women's tennis team lost its 2019 spring season opener to Penn State (1-0), 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Penn State Indoor Tennis Courts. The Midshipmen (0-1) fell behind early and were unable to rebound as they suffered their first sweep since last January against Old Dominion on the road.

Following Sunday's cancellati­on against Drexel, the Midshipmen will now host St. Bonaventur­e and St. Francis this coming Saturday to open their home slate. Navy hosts St. Bonaventur­e at 9 a.m. and St. Francis at 2 p.m. at the Tose Family Tennis Center.

NAVY MEN’S GYMNASTICS:

One night after kicking off its 2019 campaign with a second-place finish in the team portion of the West Point Open, individual members of the Navy gymnastics team took centerstag­e with action in the event finals at Christl Arena. With 10 gymnasts competing across the six apparatus, the Mids earned 11 podium results for placing in the top-six. Sophomore David Toussaint led Navy's individual effort with three podium finishes.

NAVY MEN’S TRACK & FIELD:

The Navy track and field team broke a pair of records, while tying a third as the Midshipmen concluded the annual Wesley A. Brown Invitation­al on Saturday in Annapolis. Sophomore Clayton Thompson broke the school heptathlon record; sophomore Evelyn Berecz set a new Navy mark in the triple jump; while senior Kordell Williams tied his own school record in the 60m hurdles.
