About a dozen streets will close for Hogan's inauguration
Annapolis will experience road closures and parking restrictions on and leading up to Gov. Larry Hogan’s inauguration on Wednesday.
The Gubernatorial Inauguration will be head on State Circle and Maryland Avenue. Some road closures have already gone into effect.
These road closures started on Sunday night and will end on Wednesday at 11:59 p.m., according to Annapolis police:
• State Circle, between East Street and North Street
• Maryland Avenue, between State Circle and Prince George Street
• East Street, between State Circle and Fleet Street
More road closures will start Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. These streets will reopen when the inauguration ends:
• School Street
• State Circle
• Francis Street
• Cornhill Street
• North Street
• Fleet Street
• College Avenue between Bladen Street and St. John’s Street
Parking restrictions have also gone into effect on the following streets:
• School Street
• State Circle
• North Street
• St. John’s Street
• Maryland Avenue, from State Circle to Prince George Street
• Calvert Street, between Northwest Street and Rowe Boulevard
• Prince George Street, between Maryland Avenue and College Avenue
Parking will be prohibited on these streets starting Wednesday at 7 a.m.:
• College Avenue, between Bladen Street and St. John’s Street
• Francis Street
• Cornhill Street
• Fleet Street.
Maryland State Police will conduct checkpoints and inspection sites around the downtown area, so area businesses and residents are urged to schedule any deliveries before 6 a.m. or after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
There will also be a 19-gun salute during the ceremony and a rehearsal earlier in the day. Calvert Street will be blocked off temporarily during the salute.
