Impeachment votes

-

U.S. Rep. John P. Sarbanes voted in October to go into this impeachment process without a crime. What would his professors at Harvard have said about the rules he and the Democrats selected that predate the Magna Carta enacted 500 years ago?

The impeachment Sarbanes supported:

■ Did not identify a crime.

■ Does not identify the accuser.

■ Did not allow the accused to have a lawyer present during all proceedings with the right to cross-examine witnesses.

■ Did not allow the defense to call witnesses or enter expository evidence.

■ Declared new laws that the accused could not have known of because they did not exist but are now in violation of.

Where is the impartial jury of his peers? Where are the facts? Where is the jury?

The Magna Carta came at the end of a revelation that ended after a long and bloody fight against the ruling elite and was deemed so vital that it was included in the constitution. And yet the process Sarbanes approved denied the president of all of the above. John Sarbanes, you should resign as you clearly don’t understand your first job — defend the Constitution and Defend the laws of the United States.

If you cant do the job go home. TOM BENNINGTON Annapolis
