Restaurant closures

-

On the front page of The Capital, the headline read: “Anne Arundel dining ban bites the dust.” On Page A3, the headline said: “Anne Arundel adds 256 virus cases and 6 deaths … the highest numbers since May” ( The Capital, Dec. 31)

I look at these headlines and wonder if county Circuit Court JudgeRobertMulford II putsmoney over human life. Whatwe’ve been told by health experts is if we accept closure mandates now, we can slow the virus contagion and flatten the curve.

By doing so, businesses can open safely, and our residents can frequent these businesses with no fear of contracting the coronavirus. It appears that Mulford and the restaurant owners aren’t looking at the long term, only in short term gains, which allows the virus to continue infecting and killing people.
