Six people treated for injuries in Glen Burnie apartment fire
A fire at a Glen Burnie apartment building sent six people to a local hospital Friday evening, Arundel County Fire Department officials said.
Firefighters responded to calls around 7 p.m. of fire and smoke coming from a three-story garden apartment at 470 Glen Mar Road with reports of people trapped inside. Upon arrival, units found multiple people trapped on outside balconies in need of rescue, a department spokesperson said.
All were rescued and six people were transported to a local hospital. One person refused transport, Lt. Michael Mayo said.
Firefighters brought the fire under control in one hour.
The fire’s cause is being investigated by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.
