Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action around Anne Arundel County on Friday, May 7:

BOYS LACROSSE

Old Mill 8, Northeast 7: Zeke Bowen tallied two goals and two assists as Old Mill scored with 1:08 left in the game to defeat the Eagles.

R J Breeden netted three goals and an assist, Riley Pitt added two goals, Brian Abrams chipped in with a goal and an assist, while Chris Dombroski won 12 of 19 faceoffs for Northeast. Blaine Bennett made four saves in the first half and Chance Beck stopped five shots in the second half for the Eagles.

Glen Burnie 16, Meade 4: Ethan Sterns tied a Glen Burnie single-game record by scoring 11 total points, which included six goals and five assists, and Ben Locklear added four goals as the Gophers defeated the Mustangs.

Caleb Smith scored a hat trick and added an assist, Grady Utz scored a goal and had two assists, and Ethan Hansel added two assists. Joe El-Haddad scored the first goal of the game, while Ethan Hansel had two assists and David Tallman rounded out the scoring with a goal and an assist for the Gophers. Tallman and Ethan Bergman shared the faceoff duties winning 17 of 23 faceoffs. Brandon Loyko had three saves for Glen Burnie.

Arundel 11, Annapolis 3: The Wildcats jumped out to a 6-1 lead by halftime and pulled away to win.

Frank Antonelli scored twice and Greg Durkin added a goal for Annapolis. August Keohan had an assist. In goal, Alec Gordon made six saves in the first half and Carter Holtzman had four in the second.

Chesapeake 12, North County 9: Andrew Beal registered six points on five goals and an assist while Blaine Smith had four goals and an assist to lead the Cougars. Nate Enoch, Dalton Young and Zach Forte also scored for Chesapeake.

Severna Park 1 3 , Broadneck 5

Indian Creek 18, Park 9: Benny Carter scored eight goals and dished off an assist, while Will Mercer added seven goals and two assists as the Eagles locked up the No. 4 seed in the Maryland Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n B Conference playoffs with the victory over the Bruins.

Indian Creek (7-4, 3-4 MIAA B Conference) will host Park again in the quarterfin­als.

Dylan Harris pitched in with a goal and two assists, Nick Stroble added a goal and an assist, Roddy House scored a goal and Ty Spencer made 11 saves for the Eagles. Daniel Eckroad won 20 of 25 faceoffs for Indian Creek, which led 8-6 at halftime and went on an 8-1 run in third quarter to seal the win.

Key 11, Jemicy 2: Jaeden Clarke produced two goals and four assists and Hudson Smith scored four goals as the Obezags defeated the Moose.

Teddy Fleming provided three goals and Reid Chapman added two. Owen Wood recorded a pair of assists, while Ed Bulmer and Chris Bulmer each handed out a helper. Goalkeeper Henry Robbins was solid between the pipes, making seven saves for Key.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Old Mill 22, Northeast 1: Allyna Threat enjoyed a monster game with four goals and five assists, while Olivia Olin netted five goals as the Patriots won their opener convincing­ly over the Eagles.

Samantha Sobolewski contributd four goals and an assist, while Kristen Wood and Heather Titus added two goals and an assist apiece. Carsyn Smith was credited with a goal and an assist, while Charlotte Caolo, Elaina Creekmore, Haley Hodak and Molly Sheridan scored a goal apiece. Alana Remillard stopped two shots for Old Mill.

Glen Burnie 14, Meade 3: Megan Helinski had four goals, while Emiley Smith, Julia Dominguez, Alexandra Smith and Taylor Huber each contribute­d two goals as the Gophers raced out to a 9-0 lead and led 10-1 at halftime in the victory over the Mustangs.

Angel’Lique Lockhart and Hope Castaneto had a goal apiece as Glen Burnie won 14 of 17 draws. Autumn Benson made four first-half saves and Madison Dietrich played in the cage in the second half for the Gophers.

Sarah Ullery had two goals and Karla Cali added a goal. Holland Schmitz made three saves for the Mustangs.

Chesapeake 16, North County 5: Georgia Spangler had four goals and an assist, Danielle Aschenbach had three goals and an assist, Abby Dunn had two goals and one assist, and Erin Bock added two goals to lead the Cougars. Chloe Giordano, Rachel Snyder and Charlotte Alexander added one goal and one assist each, and Alyssa Krueger and Addison Widmer added a goal apiece. Sydney Franz had four saves in the first half and Rachel Zabko had two in the second.

Alyssa Yost scored all five goals for the Knights in the season-opening loss. Goalie Jaclyn Bange did what she could to keep the visitors in the game by making 15 saves. Cassidy Cook added an assist for North County.

Arundel 16, Annapolis 5: Elsa Skinner scored two goals, while Jess Gorski, Reagan Parker and Sarah Ericson had a goal apiece, but the Panthers fell to the Wildcats. Cora Williams made three3 saves for Annapolis.

Broadneck 1 4 , Severna Park 6

Indian Creek 19, Mt. Carmel 2: Megan Bunker tallied four goals, two assists and 13 draw controls and Mia Putzi added three goals and four assists as the Eagles handled the Cougars in an Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n of Maryland C Conference playoff quarterfin­al.

Sophee Gomberg contribute­d three goals, Abi Bach pitched in with two goalsm and an assist,Kallie Huff and Cali Schwerdtfe­ger each scored a pair of goals, Avery Barnhill delivered a goal and an assist, while Molly Bunker and Anastasia Mlamntis had a goal apiece.

Goalie Ellia Alewine came up big when needed, making eight saves behind the stingy defense of Janeiyah Cajudoy, Carmeron Ramsey and Portia Fernandez.

No. 2 seed Indian Creek will host Pallotti in an IAAM C Conference semifinal at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Notre Dame Prep 17, St. Mary’s 2: The No. 8 seed Saints fell in the IAAM A Conference quarterfin­als to end their season.

McDonogh 10, Spalding 7: The No. 7 seed Cavaliers lost in the IAAM A Conference quarterfin­als to end their season.

AACS 17, Catholic 5: The No. 3 seed Eagles won big to advance to the IAAM B Conference semifinals. They will face No. 2 seed Park Wednesday at 4 p.m.

BASEBALL

St. Mary’s 2, Calvert Hall 0:

Nic Pasta earned the win with an outstandin­g relief outing as the Saints blanked the Cardinals in an MIAA A Conference contest. Pasta worked four innings and allowed two hits and just one walk while striking out six.

Damion Kenealy closed out the game, pitching the seventh inning and not allowing a hit while fanning one. Mike Coit started the pitching duel and went two innings with two hits allowed and one strikeout. Eric Chaneyand Ryan Merkel drove in the runs for St. Mary’s, which also got a hit from Logan Scully.

Severna Park 15, Chesapeake 5: Jackson Merrill smacked a grand slam and stole three bases and Tucker McDonough doubled and had two RBIs as the Falcons scored 10 runs in the final three innings to break open a tied ballgame in beating the Cougars in six innings.

Luke Herz went 2-3 and had an RBI, while Rob Weaver and Evan Stefanovic­h each drove in a run for Severna Park.

Meade 14, Northeast 4:

Andrew Owens threw four innings of one-hit ball for the Mustangs while striking out two in the win. The Eagles were leading 4-3 going into the fifth inning and Meade rallied for 11 runs to win in five innings.

Ryan Hatch had the Eagles’ only hit and an RBI in the rainsoaked and shortened game.
