Winifred “Winnie” Delia Mitchell, of Arnold, passed away on January 20, 2022 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. She was born on July 22, 1926 to Charles and Winifred Monaghan in Miami, FL. She was raised on St. Anne’s Avenue in northeast Baltimore and attended Stann’s Grammar School and Seaton High School. From 1942 to 1957, she worked for the C&P Telephone Company. She

then worked for Giant Food from 1972-1987, Victoria’s Secret from 1987-1997, and finally Talbots from 1997-2008 before she retired. Winnie was a member of the Ladies of the Elks and was the 2nd president volunteer at the Cancer Center (which later became Partners in Care). Her passion was ballroom dancing. She danced at Arthur Murray, then 5 years later at the Atlantic Ballroom in Towson. When she wasn’t dancing, she was enjoying her other passion of traveling the world having been to Hawaii 3 times, Bermuda, Mexico, all of the Baltic including St. Petersburg, Russia, all of the Mediterran­ean from Italy to Spain, including Greece. She also had been to Alaska, took a 37 day segment of a world cruise starting in the Singapore Islands and Asia going to all of Australia and the Islands in the South Pacific ending in Papeete, Tahiti. She also enjoyed many Christmas cruises to the Caribbean.

She was predecease­d by her husband, William Mitchell; her sisters Pat Collerafic­i and Mary Saboury; her brothers Charles Monaghan and James Monaghan. She is survived by her children Pamela Gagne of Green Bay, WI and Lawrence S. Mitchell of Arnold, MD; her sister Carol Komber of Tampa, FL; her brother

Joseph Monaghan of Baltimore, MD. Loving grandmothe­r of 3 and great-grandmothe­r of 6.

Family and Friends may visit on Monday January 31, 2022 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday February 1, 2022 at 12:00pm at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church 689 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery.
