St. Mary’s boys lax tops Calvert Hall

Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action Friday.

Boys lacrosse

St. Mary’s 13, Calvert Hall 12:

Will Hopkins provided three goals and two assists and Nick Golini notched a hat trick as the Saints outscored the Cardinals 5-2 in the fourth quarter to earn the win. Bobby Keane and Erik Chick each scored two goals, Gavin Burlace dished out three assists for St. Mary’s (7-0).

Severn 11, St. Paul’s 8: Andrew Beard netted a goal and four assists while Justin Queen notched a hat trick as the Admirals overcame a 6-2 deficit.

Severna Park 18, South River Enrique Villagomez notched five goals and two assists and Nolan Zobori netted four goals and three assists as the Falcons topped the Seahawks.

Indian Creek 23, Key School 15: Will Mercer scored eight goals and Benny Carter had seven to lead the host Eagles (4-1) over the Obezags (1-2).

North County 10, Glen Burnie 2: Josh Martel and Nick Mahoney each tallied four goals, while Trent Eichelberg­er and Adam Biggs netted goals as the Knights defeated the Gophers.

Northeast 9, Chesapeake 5: Devin Wirth and Andrew Pangalis each scored three goals to lead the host Eagles (4-0) over the Cougars.

Annapolis 9, Old Mill 8: Gage Berry registered four goals and Greg Durkin notched five points (three goals and two assists) to lead the Panthers over the Patriots.

Girls lacrosse

McDonogh 16, Archbishop Spalding 8: Kori Edmondson scored five goals to lead McDonogh. His play was instrument­al in turning a close 6-4 game into a one-sided 13-4 affair. Gabby Greene scored three goals to lead Spalding.

Severn 12, Mount de Sales 7: Ryan Dineen scored five goals and won five draws, Claire Hill and Zoee Stencil each scored two goals to lead the Admirals over the Sailors. The Admirals (3-3, 2-3) overcame a 5-3 deficit at halftime.

North County 16, Glen Burnie 0: Alyssa Yost accounted for five goals and an assist, Lindsay Culbertson added three goals an assist and Natalia Cosentino scored three goals to lead the Knights over the Gophers.

Severna Park 15, South River 1: Alyssa Gore-Chung delivered three goals and two assists and Delanie Abere added three goals as the Falcons rolled past the Seahawks. Karli Kirchenhei­ter was credited with two goals and four assists.

Old Mill 10, Annapolis 3: Olivia

Hoot had three goals and an assist, while Haley Hodak added three goals to lead the Patriots over the Panthers.

Southern 19, Meade 0: Cecelia Rock tallied three goals, while Lyndsey Miller and Emmie Mudd each had two goals and two assists as the Bulldogs defeated the Mustangs.

Indian Creek 13, Key School 3: Mia Putzi had five goals and four assists to lead the host Eagles over the Obezags. Putzi reached the 100-goal mark.

Baseball

Annapolis 4, CHEN 2: Colin Bashor allowed two hits and an unearned run in five innings while striking out six, and Dom Montini provided the offense with two hits and an RBI to give the Panthers the win over the Chargers.

Key 15, Chapelgate 0: Sean Boomer allowed one hit in five scoreless innings while striking out 10 and singling twice, and Lachlan Armstrong hit a two-run home run to lead the Obezags (5-2, 4-0).

North County 15, Meade 4: Kyle Lowman delivered three hits, including a double and two RBIs, while Landon Reyes and Austin Carter each had a hit and drove in a pair to guide the Knights.

Glen Burnie 7, Old Mill 3: George Johnson gave up one run on four hits while striking out six to lead the Gophers. Alan Fangman went 2-for-3 with a double for Glen Burnie (4-1).

Chesapeake 11, Northeast 2: Noah Bowerman struck out 12 in five innings. Dillon Stevens had three hits, including two doubles, while Nick Karls had a home run.

Severna Park 3, Arundel 2: Sean Williams doubled to score Seamus Patenaude for the winning run for the Falcons.

Southern 4, Crofton 1: Colby Waters had an RBI single as the Bulldogs defeated the Cardinals. Churchill Bridgman picked up the win.

St. Mary’s 29, Severn 8: Nick Hulme (3-for-6) had six RBIs and three doubles and Rocco Abdinoor (3-for-4) had two doubles and six RBIs to lead the visiting Saints (4-4).

Broadneck 11, South River 5: Josh Ehrlich went 4-for-5 to lead the visiting Bruins over the Seahawks. Ehrlich hit singles in the first, second, third and seventh innings.

Softball

Arundel 12, Severna Park 11: Emma Schurr’s double in the bottom of the eighth plated Sanaa Brown with the winning run as the Wildcats earned the walk-off victory over the Falcons.

Chesapeake 15, Northeast 1: Alie Pollack went 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs and Sophia Bianco finished 2-for-3

with a triple and two RBIs.

Old Mill 6, Glen Burnie 0: Reagan McCoy hit a two-run home run in the seventh and Brynn Mulzer surrendere­d only two hits as the Patriots blanked the Gophers.

South River 12, Broadneck 1: Winning pitcher CJ Harris hit a three-run home run, Gracie Solarz hit a two-run home run and drove in four runs and Courtney Little hit a solo home run and drove in another run with a double.

Tennis

St. Mary’s 5, Glenelg Country 0: Ricky Baumann, Nick Javid and Kevin Feldtmose all won in singles as the Saints swept the Dragons.

Severn 4, Boys’ Latin 1: Matthew McNair, Daniel McNair and Nate Krall each won their singles matches in straight sets.

Old Mill 5, Chesapeake 4: Catherine Le and Maia Klecan-Towle won their girls singles matches, while three more Old Mill wins came in doubles play.

Arundel 8, Southern 1: Matthias Linke, Hunter Kline, Phoebe Budd and Sariah Goldbrenne­r each won their singles matches to lead the Wildcats past the Bulldogs.

Broadneck 7, Glen Burnie 2: Gustav Kemp and Olivia Mellynchuk won in singles matches to lead the Bruins.
