Michigan RB Corum will miss postseason

-

Michigan running back Blake Corum is expected to have knee surgery and will miss the remainder of the postseason, according to reports Thursday.

Corum, a junior, was in the Heisman Trophy hunt before he suffered an injury to his left knee during the first half of the Wolverines’ 19-17 win over Illinois on Nov. 19. He returned for one play in the second half but then sat the rest of the game.

Corum started last week’s victory over Ohio State but exited the game limping after his second carry.

Michigan, No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, is 12-0 and will face Purdue in the Big Ten title game Saturday.

Corum finishes the season with 247 carries for 1,463 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns and one receiving score.
