Girls basketball

St. Mary’s 49, Severna Park 42: The Saints (11-0) handed the Falcons (5-1) their first defeat. St. Mary’s was led by freshman Bailey Harris with 18 points. Alexandra Vandiver added 11.Abby Kavanagh led Severna Park with 15 points and nine rebounds. Hanna Verreault added 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Maria Bragg chipped in nine points and five rebounds.

City 50, Arundel 44: Jessica Gotshall had 19 points for the Wildcats despite the loss.

Boys basketball

Southern 50, Severna Park 48:

The Bulldogs got 14 points each from Joell Simmons and Brian Griffin in the win. Ethan Sheffey added nine points and Steve Smith pulled down 10 rebounds.

Upton Young had a game-high 22 points to lead Severna Park. Brendan Abell added 17.

South River 65, Eleanor Roosevelt 55: The Seahawks got 20 points from Cash Herndon to lead the win. Blake Burrows added 17 and Trashaun Timmons chipped in 15.

Arundel 51, CMIT 50: The Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak.

Aqeel Sana led Arundel with 12 points, 12 rebounds, four steals and four blocks. Noah Frayer pitched in 12 points.

Wrestling

Old Mill 78, Arundel

6: Dekchi Church (132 pounds), Ryan Stanley (138), Trey Martini (145), Noel Williams (160), Deven Perry (182), Drayk Bunn (195), Xxavien Mackell (220) and Tre Rankin (285) all collected pins in the dominant win for the Patriots (19-4). Logan Johnson (106), Keon Gavin (120), Ruben Marios (152) and Logan Cookerly (170) all won by forfeit.

Anthony Allen collected the lone pin for Arundel.
