Helen Martha Bohmer passed away peacefully at her home in Arnold on January 12, 2023 at the age of 89. Helen was born on July 12, 1933 in New York, NY to Gustav and Emma Hanke. She attended Morris High School in New York City. In 1957 she married her late husband of 49 years, Thomas E. Bohmer.

Helen lived in Indiana, Connecticu­t, and Florida before making Maryland her permanent home with her late husband Thomas. A resident of Maryland for over 50 years, she retired from ARINC in Annapolis after working as a secretary for over 15 years. Helen was a caring and beloved member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Arnold, where she was an active member of the Hand Bell Ensemble. She volunteere­d for many various duties at Gloria Dei and was a member of the quilting group. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchild­ren, crocheting, and gardening. Helen was known for crocheting special homemade gifts for family and friends.

Helen is survived by her three children; Charlotte A. Ross of Huntingtow­n, MD, Thomas E. Bohmer III of Clemmons, NC, and Robert M. Bohmer of Annapolis MD, 3 grandchild­ren, Kristy and Karen Ross, Nicholas Bohmer and 1 great-grandchild, Smith Bohmer, and daughter-in-law Loretta Bohmer. Helen was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Donald B. Ross.

A memorial service and celebratio­n of life will be held Tuesday January 17, at 12pm at Gloria Dei Church, 461 College Parkway, Arnold MD 21012.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena MD 21122.
