Woman, relative plead guilty after conspiring to kill ex-boyfriend

- By Luke Parker

Two people pleaded guilty Friday to assault charges after attacking and shooting a man in Annapolis’ Harbour House community in September.

Kierra Green, 33, of Annapolis, and Darian Humphrey, 25, of Baltimore, will be sentenced March 27 and 28, respectively, by Anne

Arundel Circuit Judge Stacy McCormack, court records show. Green and Humphrey are relatives, police said, though they did not elaborate on how they are related.

On Sept. 11, 2023, shortly before 6 p.m., an Annapolis Police officer responded to the area of President and Frederick Douglass streets after he heard gunfire. As more police arrived, they found a trail of blood and a man who had been shot multiple times in his arms and legs, according to charging documents.

The victim, who police later learned was an ex of Green’s, was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police wrote that Green had filed assault charges against the victim just weeks before the shooting.

After surveying the crime scene, investigators reviewed surveillance footage from Harbour House that had captured the shooting. According to charging documents, a man, later identified as Humphrey, parked a silver Nissan Altima along President

Street before meeting Green, who police said pointed “in the direction of the victim.” Humphrey then walked up to the victim and shot him multiple times before driving away in the Nissan.

During their investigation, Annapolis police received a tip identifying Humphrey, also known as “D-Rock,” as the shooter. Investigators were also able to track the

Nissan’s registration and discovered it was a rented car. According to charging documents, the vehicle was signed over to the grandmother of Humphrey’s girlfriend, providing “clarity” to Humphrey’s connection to the car.

Two days after the shooting, police issued a search

and seizure warrant on the rented Nissan, where they found multiple documents with Humphrey’s name, and his girlfriend’s, on the front passenger’s seat.

Green was arrested the day of the shooting, while Humphrey was arrested after the search and seizure warrant was executed, court records show.

Green pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, while Humphrey pleaded to first-degree assault and a firearm offense, according to the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Both were charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment, as well as conspiracy to commit murder and assault. Humphrey was also charged with multiple firearm offenses.

Green and Humphrey have been held without bail since their arrest in September.
