We should not have to live under a dictatorship

- Alejandro Tamargo, Annapolis

Many of you have good reasons of conscience to be against the government party who wants to continue giving the freedom for women to choose everything to do with their own bodies and health, without making exceptions for when there is a new life inside of their bodies.

You believe government should step in and have the final say, once conception has occurred; the woman and her doctor should not have the final say in all cases. Too many women aren’t taking into consideration the fact that there is a separate human life inside of their bodies, and that human life should have as much rights as they do.

I totally agree that human life should be protected. However, where that human life is in a symbiosis with another, and what affect one is going to affect the other, the human directly involved in that relationship should have the final say — not the government.

The government should provide information, resources and options for women to understand what is involved in their choices, but not force them to make the choice. The unintended bad consequences are not being made up; they are happening.

But let us put all that aside, because what we are talking about is the freedom for everyone to not live under a dictatorship. A dictatorship where one person is going to take away not only the freedom of women to choose what to do with their own bodies, but our freedom to hold our government accountable for what we the people want for ourselves going forward.

What is going to be your choice if things are done by that kind of government that your conscience also tells you is wrong? You would have to head for the hills. No longer could you just vote them out of office.

We have all witnessed what kind of man Donald Trump is. You better believe him when he is telling you he thinks he is the only one who can fix all of our problems, also known as a dictator. I witnessed it live, when he told one of his supporters to beat up someone who was heckling him at one of his rallies; “I will pay all your legal fees.” I witnessed this before he was elected president.

I was hoping I was wrong after he was elected. But unfortunately he has proven me right. He is a want-to-be-dictator.
