Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday.

Boys lacrosse

Chesapeake 12, Wilde Lake 5: Nathan Wheeler scored four goals and assisted on two more in the Cougars’ win. Talan Behler backed him with three goals and three assists. Charlie Hall, Joke Forman and Chase Bivens all scored twice. Cade Shannon handed out two assists while Hunter Cappe made five saves in goal.

Severna Park 16, Marriotts Ridge 4: The visiting Falcons defeated the Mustangs led by six goals from Timmy Sullivan and five from John Burkhardt. Jack Fish also had a hat trick for Severna Park. For Marriotts Ridge, Mason Machiran had two goals and an assist while Ian Murphy made 15 saves.

Broadneck 8, Mt. Hebron 7: Braden McCassie scored the game-winner for the Bruins in a hard fought, double-overtime battle. Graham Hartman went 13-for-19 on faceoffs, while both Tyler Stewart and Tanner Boone each scored twice. For Mt. Hebron, Kyle Ratta had four goals while Luca LeClaire made 12 saves.

Crofton 10, Howard 4: Zack Gutierrez scored four goals to lift the Cardinals over the Lions. Tom Gress added three goals and John Gallizzo made 13 saves in goal.

South River 8, Glenelg 7: Trevor Phipps led his team with six goals in the narrow win. Ben Adams had a goal and an assist, while Danny Thibodeau also scored.

Baseball

Chesapeake 10, Old Mill 9: Sean Carroll ripped the walkoff hit that scored Lucas Slayton all the way from first. Carroll and Slayton each had three hits on the day. Cole Parsons, Carter Drab and Dylan Adams added two hits apiece.

Tennis

Broadneck 9, Old Mill 0: The Bruins got singles wins from Viktor Lundback, Eliot Martin, Olivia Mellynchuk and Natalie Hosie. Doubles wins came from the teams of Ryan Sar and Koa Hamilton, Ben Cukor and Demetrius Greene, Gigi Garner and Hadley Crooks, Rachel Cruz and Kate Pierce, and Charlie Ernst and Anissa JeanClaude.
