A baseball agent at Bad Bunny’s Rimas Sports firm has lost his certification with the Major League Baseball Players Association. The union declined to comment Friday on the reason for its decision. “At Rimas Sports, we uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity of our industry,” the agency said in a statement Friday. “Out of respect for an ongoing process within the context of the MLBPA agent regulations, we will refrain from making any comments at this time. We remain committed to continue serving our clients with excellence.” Arroyo declined comment for now but said he would have something to say soon. The decision is subject to an appeal before a member of the American Arbitration Association, according to the union’s agent regulations. Rimas’ clients include Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez and infielder Ronny Mauricio, Yankees infielder Oswald Peraza, Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar and Nationals outfielder Eddie Rosario. Bad Bunny is one of the top-selling artists in the world whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. The three-time Grammy winner launched Rimas Sports in April of 2023.
Diamondbacks: Jordan Montgomery switched agents from Scott Boras to Joel Wolfe of Wasserman Media Group after his drawn out free agency ended with a $25 million, one-year contract with the Diamondbacks rather than a long-term deal. Montgomery’s agent with the players’ association was listed as Boras on Thursday but changed to Wasserman on Friday.
Rays: The Rays put oft-injued second baseman Brandon Lowe on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain and recalled infielder Niko Goodrum from Triple-A Durham on Friday. Lowe was hurt on Tuesday swinging a bat in preparation to enter as a pinch hitter.

On Friday, steady rain and a forecast for wet weather along strong winds postponed the Guardians’ threegame series opener against the Yankees. The teams will now play a split doubleheader Saturday, with the first game starting at 12:10 p.m., and the second game slotted for 6:10 p.m.
Red Sox: Ceddanne Rafaela’s salaries in the final seasons of his $50 million, eight-year contract with the Red Sox could escalate depending on his finish in MVP voting or whether he becomes an All-Star. Rafaela’s deal, announced Wednesday, includes a team option for 2032 that could make the agreement with the 23-year-old outfielder worth $62 million over nine seasons.
