Zion to miss Pelicans’ play-in game vs. Kings

-

Zion Williamson was ruled out of the Pelicans’ Western Conference play-in game against the Kings on Friday because of a left hamstring injury — and is expected to miss up to two weeks should the Pelicans advance to the NBA playoffs.

The injury occurred with about three minutes remaining in a 110-106 loss to the Lakers in the play-in tournament opener Tuesday in New Orleans.

Williamson scored 40 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss.

The Kings, the Pelicans’ opponent in the game for the West’s No. 8 seed, beat the visiting Warriors 118-94 on Tuesday.

The Lakers’ victory over the Pelicans earned them the No. 7 seed and a first-round date with the defending league champion Nuggets.
