Four arrested in Ringgold drug bust
Catoosa County sheriff’s detectives arrested four people on drug charges after tracking a wanted woman to a Ringgold residence.
According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department:
Adonica Love Stephens and Michael Shane Leming, both of Ringgold, and Brandy Nicole Burnette and James Tyler Kelly, both of East Ridge, Tenn., were arrested Friday, April 17. All four offenders were charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of morphine, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), and possession of tools for the commission of a crime, while Stephens garnered additional charges of obstruction and probation violation.
Burnette and Leming both have bonds set at $16,000, while Stephens has been denied bond.
Detectives responded to residence on Regina Lane in Ringgold about 2:37 p.m. April 17 after learning that Stephens, who had outstanding warrants, was in the home.
When detectives knocked on the door, they were met by Burnette, Kelley and Leming, and were told that Stephens was not present, reports show.
“Noises could be heard coming from the south end of the trailer,” detective Scott Jordan said. “I checked the south end of the trailer and discovered a hole in the floor of a closet.”
Detectives and deputies then discovered that Stephens was under the mobile home.
Stephens was ordered to come out from under the trailer but wouldn’t do so, reports show.
“Finally detective Sullivan had to crawl under the mobile home and pull Stephens up from under the trailer,” Jordan explained.
While in the residence, detectives found plastic baggies containing a crystalline substance later determined to be methamphetamine, pill bottles later identified as morphine, and marijuana in another plastic baggy.
Spoons, needles, and smoking devices were also found, reports show.
