The Ringgold Police Department hosted its second annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Tuesday, April 14, at the Windstone Golf Course in Ringgold to raise money for the Hunter Worley Foundation.

The Hunter Worley Foundation assists families who have lost a child and who are experiencing financial difficulties with the funeral expenses and so on.

According to police chief Dan Bilbrey, the event was a great success for a great cause.

“It was great,” Bilbrey said. “We had a number of sponsors for this event and with the assistance of Modern Woodman of America, we raised just over $10,000 for the foundation.”

The overall champions were Rick Bruton, Buster Bruton, Ken Stiles and Chris Guglielmo of REB Trucking.

Some of the events sponsors included Andy’s Corner Market of Tunnel Hill, ASR, Capital Bank, Price Ringgold Drug, Ringgold Telephone Company, Mashburn Equipment, JR’S Land Company, Chattanooga Retina PLLC, Park Properties, Weeks and Peters Insurance and North Georgia Chiropractic.

“We would like to thank all the participants of the tournament for taking time out of their busy schedules to make this happen,” Bilbrey said. “It was a great day for a great cause and we are looking forward to next year’s tournament, which has been scheduled for May 3, 2016 at the Windstone Golf and Country Club.”
