Catoosa County being hit with rash of residential burglaries
Catoosa County detectives have been dealing with a rash of residential burglaries this month, four of which have occurred over the past couple of weeks.
According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department, deputies have been called out to multiple residential burglaries, with one house even being hit twice in just a couple of months.
The first incident occurred sometime between the night of Oct. 5 and the morning of Oct. 6 on Arbor Mill Lane just off Wooten Road. The burglary involved the theft of a TV, video games, DVDs, currency, and a laptop computer.
The suspect(s) are believed to have entered the home by pushing in a window containing an air conditioning unit.
Two flat screen televisions were stolen from a home on Salem Valley Road on Oct. 9, and then, on Oct. 13, a resident living in the 100 block of Will Ridge Drive reported that multiple firearms were stolen from the residence, the second such burglary at the home in less than three months.
“Both times firearms were stolen,” the resident said.
The most recent burglary occurred on East Pine Street in Rossville on Oct. 18.
In that incident, a checkbook, keys, and a watch were stolen, reports show.
“There was forced entry,” Deputy Carmi Smith said. “The victim stated that while at work, he received a text message from his neighbor which stated his front door was wide open.”
Detectives did find a muddy footprint on the house under a window, which is how they believe the suspect(s) made entry into the residence.
Anyone with information about any of the burglaries is encouraged to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department at 706-935-2424.
