Lady Generals stay unbeaten, shut out county rivals Langford goes low to help LaFayette win

It was a very successful past few days for the Heritage Middle School Lady Generals, who picked up three big victories, including a league win over a county rival.

Heritage scored an 8-0 win over New Hope Middle School last Friday before claiming a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Dalton this past Monday.

Brooke Fairchild had three combined goals in the two wins. Bailey Needham had two goals and dished out three total assists. McKenna Bialecke and Zandy Burton scored twice with Bialecke picking up an assist. Mady Terry had a goal and two assists, while Molly Cason and Emma Tennyson both had one assist.

Jordan Leonard had three total saves.

Heritage girls 4, Lakeview 0

On Thursday, the Lady Generals picked up an NGAC win at Lakeview as Leonard got the shutout in goal.

Bailey Needham scored twice, while Terry and Mady Nix each found the net once. Bialecke finished with two assists.

Head coach Mike Craft named Cason, Terry, Abbey Bradford, Lindsay Davies, Sydney Lane, Lily Langston, Addison Needham, Briley Simpson and Emma Walther as defensive standouts in the latest matches.

Lakeview boys 3, Heritage 0

Jalen Glover got things going for the Warriors (2-0) on Thursday with a shot from nearly 30 yards away and that got in under the crossbar. Glover later assisted Domingo Marrowquin on a shot that found the left upper 90 and defensive midfielder Al Hastic later sealed the win with what head coach Traye Carpenter described as a “cannon ball shot” following a throw-in assist from Cooper Kirk.

“It was a great allaround defensive effort from the entire team,” Carpenter added. “The game was very physical and intense, but the result was worth it.”

Ringgold girls 5, Trion 1

The Ringgold Lady Tigers got two goals each from Sophie Grace Reed and Joanna Medlin in a win over Trion on Tuesday.

Hailey Emous added one goal and Taylor Layne picked up an assist as the Lady Tigers moved to 2-0.

Ringgold boys 3, Trion 1

The day’s second contest saw the Tigers overcome an early 1-0 deficit to post a victory and match their female counterpar­ts with a 2-0 record.

Ringgold tied the score late in the first half as Conner Friddell scored off of Blake Davidson assist. Ajack Dau and Jermie Constant scored in the second half with Ayden Rowland assisting on Constant’s goal. Drew Comley had numerous saves in goal for the Blue-and-White.

LaFayette got a 40 from low medalist Grant Langford in a 213-227 victory over Gordon Lee at the LaFayette Golf Course last Monday.

Junior Barber added a 55 for the Ramblers, while a 56 from Jud Woods and a 62 rounded out the team score. Aidan Sampley, Aidan Hadaway and Isaac Lawrence all carded 62’s, while Abby Keys had a 63 in her round.

Cora Mount paced Gordon Lee with a 56, followed by Ayden Cordell with a 57, Cambelle Williams with a 58 and Landon Williams and Tanner Maynor, who both shot 59.

One day later, back at the LaFayette Golf Course, Heritage got a pair of 45’s from Chandler Burns and Sam Johnson as they beat LaFayette and Gordon Lee in a threeteam matchup.

Seth Huskins shot a 59 for the Generals, while Chance Mahon had a 63 to round out the team score of 212.

LaFayette (220) had a 41 from Langford, again the day’s low medalist. Barber shot of 56 and Woods had a 60. The Ramblers only had three available players, so they were forced to accept a filler score of 63 to complete their team total.

Gordon Lee (232) got a 50 from Cora Mount, while the rest of the lineup included Cordell

(60), Cambelle Williams (61) and Landon Williams (61). Maynor also played and carded a 62 for the Navy-andWhite.

On Thursday at Windstone, LaFayette held off Gordon Lee

and Heritage in a ninehole match. Langford once again was the day’s best with a score of 37.

Nate Gentry had a 60 for the Ramblers (222), followed by a 62 from Hadaway and a 63 from Keys.

Mount shot a very respectabl­e 47 for the Trojans (227), while

Cordell (60) and Noah Dockery (60) also played for the Navy-and-White. Gordon Lee also had to record a filler score of 60.

Ringgold (244) got a 59 from Christian (no last name provided), 61’s from Anna Ray and Noah Maretti and a 63 from Macy Vineyard.

On a cold Tuesday

afternoon at the LaFayette Golf Course, the Saddle Ridge Mustangs continued its strong early-season play by winning a threeteam match.

Saddle Ridge got a 47 from low medalist Brady Mullaly and finished with a 223 to edge Ringgold by just one shot. Lakeview

finished 13 strokes out of the lead.

Shelby Coker added a 57 for Saddle Ridge, followed by a 58 by Caden Harris and a 61 from Nate Hines.

Ringgold (224) was led by a 53 from McClaine Donovan, while Elli Grace Roy added a 56. A 57 from Cohen Shattuck and a

58 from Dylan Fayta rounded out the team score.

Lakeview (236) got a 52 from Ashton Hinnard, followed by a 60 from Landon Faulk and a pair of 62’s by Hannah Thurman and Beau Wellborn on the south Walker County layout.
