Middle School Baseball: Gordon Lee stays unbeaten

The Gordon Lee Trojans moved to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in NGAC action with an 8-2 home victory over Lakeview last Tuesday afternoon.

Gordon Lee outhit the Warriors, 10-4, as they got two hits apiece from Brodie Genter, Curtis Wells, Kade Cowan and Garren Ramey. Genter and Ramey had two RBIs each, while Wells drove in one. Blake Rodgers and Caden Derryberry each had a hit.

Genter picked up the win on the mound, giving up three hits and striking out five in four innings of work. Cody McCutcheon allowed one hit in three innings of relief.

Dylan Blankenshi­p had a two-run single for the Warriors (4-3, 4-2).

Heritage 10, LaFayette 0

The Generals baseball team sent 14 batters to the plate and exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning last Tuesday night, pulling away against the visiting Ramblers.

Gage Shaver was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Generals. J.T. Eaton had a hit, scored twice and drove in two runs, while Landon Skeen was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ryan Heet, J.J. Hunt, Mike Stokes and Hayden Hall also had solo RBIs in the win.

Skeen pitched all five innings of the run rule contest. He allowed just three hits and walked one with eight strikeouts.

Skylar Cepada took the loss for the Ramblers. He allowed eight hits and three walks in four innings, but just two earned runs due to several defensive errors by LaFayette.

Cade Fisher, Case Davis and Bryson Kelley each had a single for the Ramblers.

Rossville 13, Chatt. Valley 2

The Bulldogs got two hits each from Hudson Couch and Dyllan Curtis in a victory over the Eagles last Tuesday afternoon at Ridgeland High School.

Couch picked up an RBI in the win. Logan Fowler also drove in a run, while Zack Harrison plated a run on a double.

Austin Acuff had a pair of hits for the Eagles.

Chris Maddeaux struck out five in 3.1 innings for the Bulldogs to get the win, while Brian Kendrick took the loss for the Eagles. Jacob Ross also pitched for Rossville, fanning six in 2.2 innings.

Rossville 3, Heritage 2

An Aidan McGill RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Bulldogs to a dramatic victory over the Generals at Rossville City Park last Wednesday.

Harrison had a big game for the Bulldogs as he fanned nine batters in seven innings of work. He walked six batters, but limited the Generals to just five hits. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored a run.

Jacob Ross had two hits and scored once for Rossville. Ethan Waters had a hit and an RBI, while Curtis was 1-for-3

with a run scored and an RBI.

Heritage took the lead with a solo run in the top of the fifth on a Skeen RBI-single, but Waters’ RBI in the bottom of the sixth would tie the game, 1-1. An RBI-double off the bat of Hunt would bring in Heet with the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh, but the

Generals’ lead would not last.

Ross led off the seventh with a single and swiped second base before scoring on a hit by Curtis. A catcher’s interferen­ce call and a walk would load them up for McGill, who came through with the final run-scoring hit for the Bulldogs.

Hall and Eaton also had hits for the Generals.

Stokes pitched four innings of one-hit ball with five strikeouts.

Weldon gave up three runs - two earned - on six hits and walk with three strikeouts in two innings of work.

Bryson Greene walked one and allowed one hit. The run he allowed was unearned.

Ringgold 16, Saddle Ridge 0

The Tigers got two doubles and three RBIs from Aiden Long and two hits and four RBIs from Ross Norman in a win over the Mustangs

last Tuesday afternoon at LaFayette High School.

Brody Gann had three hits, while Mason Parker and Mason Burt had two each for the Tigers. Hudson Chandler doubled, while Alex Otting and Ty Gilbert each delivered a hit.

Brent Bowman threw two innings, striking out two, while Gilbert fanned one hitter in two innings on the hill.

Dakota Catlett had three strikeouts in three

innings of work for the Mustangs.

Ringgold 15, Chatt. Valley 0

The Tigers moved to 11-3 overall and 6-1 in the NGAC after a win at Chattanoog­a Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

Norman had three hits and knocked in four runs, while striking out one batter in two innings on the mound. Gilbert had three hits and an RBI, while Gann picked up two hits and

drove in one run.

Kyle White and Burt each added two hits. Parker tripled and drove in a run. Robbie Bates had a hit and two RBIs, while Bowman singled and brought in a run for the Tigers.

Chandler pitched two innings, finishing with four strikeouts, while White fanned two in his one inning of work.

Individual stats for the Eagles had not been provided as of press time.
