Short-handed Generals take third at Thanksgiving Duals
The Heritage High School Generals were missing three starters from their lineup, but they still managed to pick up the third-place trophy at the Heritage Thanksgiving Duals on Saturday.
Heritage went 2-2 on the day, led by Jeffery Curtis (220 pounds), who went 4-0 with four pins. Ian Burgett (132), Seth Ingle (170) and Drake Parker (182) each went 4-0 with three pins, while Ryan Craft (120) was 4-0 with two pins.
Garret Stephens (152) and Alex Eacret (195) were both 3-1 with two pins. Nathan Boatman (126) was 2-2 with one pin and Tyler Willingham (138) was 2-2 with one technical fall. Ethan Covington (160) had one win by pin, while Enrique Rodriguez (106), Kameron Burnette (113) and Garrett Pennington (145) all had one win. Head coach Mike Craft said Randy Brooks (285) also put up tough matches on Saturday.
Trion won the team title.
The Generals are scheduled to wrestle as part of a quadmeet at Dade County on Thursday before taking part in the Westminster Duals in Atlanta this Saturday.
