Short-handed Gen­er­als take third at Thanks­giv­ing Du­als

The Her­itage High School Gen­er­als were miss­ing three starters from their lineup, but they still man­aged to pick up the third-place tro­phy at the Her­itage Thanks­giv­ing Du­als on Satur­day.

Her­itage went 2-2 on the day, led by Jef­fery Cur­tis (220 pounds), who went 4-0 with four pins. Ian Bur­gett (132), Seth In­gle (170) and Drake Parker (182) each went 4-0 with three pins, while Ryan Craft (120) was 4-0 with two pins.

Gar­ret Stephens (152) and Alex Eacret (195) were both 3-1 with two pins. Nathan Boat­man (126) was 2-2 with one pin and Tyler Will­ing­ham (138) was 2-2 with one tech­ni­cal fall. Ethan Cov­ing­ton (160) had one win by pin, while En­rique Ro­driguez (106), Kameron Bur­nette (113) and Gar­rett Pen­ning­ton (145) all had one win. Head coach Mike Craft said Randy Brooks (285) also put up tough matches on Satur­day.

Trion won the team ti­tle.

The Gen­er­als are sched­uled to wres­tle as part of a quad­meet at Dade County on Thurs­day be­fore tak­ing part in the West­min­ster Du­als in At­lanta this Satur­day.
