of North Georgia signee, is arguably the top returning player in the entire region. Gregg picked up All-region and All-state honors after averaging 21.2 points to go with five rebounds and three steals a game a year ago.

She and Foster will lead a senior class that also includes post player Anna Rountree, who is expected to improve on her averages of 4.4 points and 3.7 rebounds a night from a year ago. Alesya Mcburnett and Reahgan Howe will also both play in the post for the Red-and-white.

“Alesya plays volleyball, but she kind of caught the basketball bug this summer,” Watkins said. “She’s really excited about it and she’s going to be a major contributor for us and we also have Reahgan, who will give us extra depth in the post.”

Among the juniors, guard Milijah Williams made her presence felt last year with 6.5 points and 2.3 rebounds a game in her first year at LFO. Watkins says that Williams has become more comfortable on the floor and he believes she is ready to make an even bigger contribution this year.

Ateana Copeland can play both the 4 and the 5-spot. In the middle, Erie Stookey gives LFO a post player that stands over 6-foot tall, while Mackenzie Begley will provide the Lady Warriors with another solid player in the post. In the backcourt, Dekeia Rowe should be a major contributor at either of the guard spots, while another guard, Gabby Ware, has good shooting range and plenty of veteran experience.

Watkins is also pleased with the progress that sopho- more Madison Stookey has made since last season. After a year on the JV team, he thinks the 6-2 Stookey has developed into a player that can make a difference in the paint. Megan Oliver can play at a guard or at a wing spot, while two more guard/wing combos, Kyla Orr and Riley White, will split time between the varsity and junior varsity squads this season.

The final player vying for varsity playing time this season will be freshman point guard Trinity Shortt.

Assistants Krista Davis, Keri Gregg-miller and Matt Culbreth will once again be back to provide familiarity in the coaching ranks, while Nikki Parker will serve as the team’s manager.
