The LFO Warriors and Lady Warriors got back to action following the holiday break and did so by sweeping back-to-back doubleheaders this past weekend.

At home on Friday, LFO earned a pair of Region 6-AAA victories over visiting Haralson County in a pair of low-scoring contests.

In the opener, the Lady Warriors trailed 21-13 at halftime, but held the Lady Rebels to just six points in the second half as they rallied for a 33-27 victory. Anna Rountree had 11 points, followed by Milijah Williams with seven points and Macey Gregg with six.

LFO improved to 4-5 in the region with the win.

In the boys’ game, LFO outscored the visitors 11-0 in the first quarter, led 20-8 at halftime, extended its lead even more in the third quarter, but had to stave off a late Rebel rally to score a 48-41 win.

The Warriors upped their record 5-4 in 6-AAA behind a season-high 25 points from Cameron Gregg, who had four 3-pointers and went 5-of-6 at the free throw line. Ruddy Ware added 14 points for the Red-and-white.

Then on Saturday, the Lady Warriors had an easier time of it with a 71-32 win at Ridgeland.

LFO led 16-8 after the first quarter and would extend its lead to 40-19 at halftime before adding to it in the third period. Rountree had a game-high 18 points for LFO (7-10 overall). Williams had 17 points and Gregg finished with 14.

The nightcap saw the Warriors and Panthers display their talents before Chattanooga-area television audience and fans in attendance and sitting at home on their living room couches enjoyed an entertaining basketball game.

Down by a single point at the end of the first quarter, LFO would double up Ridgeland in the second period, 16-8, before going on to score a 56-47 victory over their longtime rivals.

LFO (9-8) would enjoy a successful night at the free throw line as the Red-and-white made 17-of-23 attempts. They led 24-17 at intermission and extended the lead to 12 points by the end of the third quarter.

Gregg and Jacob King had 14 points each in the victory. Ware finished with 12 points, while James Beddington had six points, including a perfect 4-of-4 from the foul line.
