Blood Assurance North Georgia’s advisory board asks for residents of Walker and Catoosa counties to support Blood Assurance by participat­ing in the “New Blood” blood drives in August. Donations can be made at the Fort Oglethorpe Center, 2720 Lafayette Road, or any of these community blood drives: Catoosa County Ema-court House, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Lane Funeral Home, Aug. 16, from 5-7 p.m.; GNTC Walker Campus, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Walmart-lafayette, Aug. 30, from 3-7 p.m.; Walmart-fort Oglethorpe, Aug. 30, from 3-7 p.m.; and 22 Zero Veterans at American Legion-rossville, Aug. 31, from noon to 4 p.m.

Lane Funeral Home will have a blood drive from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, South Crest Chapel, is located at 833 Chickamaug­a Avenue in Rossville. For the month of August, Blood Assurance is awarding prizes for new and repeat donors in Walker and Catoosa counties.
