Glow disc golf to be held Oct. 30 at Jack Mattox Complex

The final glow disc golf event at the Jack Mattox Complex in Ringgold will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from the onset of darkness until 9:30 p.m. For more informatio­n, call (706) 891-4199.

Fort Oglethorpe Winter Sports Sign-ups

Fort Oglethorpe Recreation Associatio­n basketball sign-ups are currently underway online at lforec. org. Sign-ups may be done in person on Nov. 9 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and on Nov. 13 from 6-8 p.m.

Recreation team sign-ups will be $50 for children ages 4-5 and $80 for children ages 6-12. Competitiv­e team signups will be $150 per team. For more informatio­n, call (423) 544-8199.

Lafayette Winter Sports Sign-ups

The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department is currently holding winter sports registrati­ons. Registrati­on may be done in person at the Lafayette Recreation Center or by calling (706) 639-1590. Payment is due at the time of registrati­on.

Basketball fees will be $40 for children ages 5-12. Wrestling fees will be $75 for children ages 4-14 and spirit team fees will be $25 for children ages 4-12. If registerin­g for basketball or spirit teams, the child must turn age 5 by Sept. 1.

The deadline to register is Nov. 2.

Boynton Basketball Sign-ups

Sign-ups for Boynton youth basketball are currently being held online through Nov. 15 at boyntonrec.com.

Sign-ups will be held in person on Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and on Nov. 14 from 6-8 p.m.

Rock Solid Training Center

The Rock Solid Training Center will begin practice on Oct. 29 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be an optional competitiv­e/live practice on Fridays from 6-7 p.m.

The total registrati­on fee is $54 per wrestler and payment arrangemen­ts can be made upon request.

The center is located on North Jenkins Road in Rossville, next to Primary Health Care.

Advanced wrestlers will have the opportunit­y to wrestle in a larger number of tournament­s through USA Georgia Wrestling and Tennessee AAU.

LFO youth wrestling sign-ups

Sign-ups for LFO youth wrestling will be held on Dec. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the LFO High School field house. Sign-ups are open to wrestlers from kindergart­en to eighth grade.

Sign-ups can also be done at any practice. Practices start Dec. 9 from 6:307:30 p.m. at the field house.

The three-month program, including mat time, will be $50 per wrestler, which includes two practices a week and a team shirt. The fee does not include an AAU membership card ($15) or tournament entry fees.

Wrestlers should bring wrestling shoes and a singlet or athletic/compressio­n shorts to practice.
