Lakeview, Ringgold girls open league slate at 2-0

Last Tuesday night, the Lakeview Lady Warriors picked up a victory over Catoosa County rival Heritage for the second time this season. Tuesday’s 31-28 win counted in the North Georgia Athletic Conference standings.

Christen Collins had 10 points to pace the Lady Warriors. Ziara Thompson added nine points, followed by Presley Piatt with six, Zoey Martin with five and Kalie Richiez with one.

Heritage got nine points apiece from Macie Collins and Dayonna Perryman. Aaliyah Rodgers added six points, while Bree Wilson and Natalie Vaughn each finished with two.

Lakeview 39, Gordon Lee 23

The Lady Warriors moved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the NGAC with the road win on Thursday while the Lady Trojans dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

No individual statistics for either team had been provided as of press time.

Heritage 46, Saddle Ridge 24

The Lady Generals led by just one point after the first quarter, but extended their lead to eight by halftime before pouring it on in the second half for a rebound victory on Thursday. Collins had 12 points for Heritage (4-3, 1-1). Rodgers finished with 11 points and Perryman added nine.

Fantasja Barber hit two 3-pointers and finished with 10 points and eight boards for the visiting Lady Mustangs. Avery Jenkins had seven points and Alivia Hughes finished with five.

Saddle Ridge 38, Dade County 28

In the first league game of the season last Tuesday, the Lady Mustangs went to Trenton and scored the program’s first-ever win over the Lady Wolverines.

Barber nearly finished with a triple-double for Saddle Ridge (2-3, 1-1) as she scored 21 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and collected nine steals to go with two assists and a block. Olivia Acuff had nine points, six boards, three steals and a block, while Alivia Hughes added four points, eight rebounds and a pair of steals.

Ringgold 48, Rossville 18

The Lady Tigers stayed undefeated by winning at home last Tuesday.

Leiah Henderson had 13 points for Ringgold. Allie Massengale scored all nine of her points in the first stanza, while Riley Burdette and Cady Helton both added six points.

Rossville got eight points each from Shayla Rosson and Haylee Collins, while Calese Dallas scored the other two points.

Dade County 55, Rossville 37

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference action after a loss on Thursday. Individual statistics had not been provided as of press time.

Ringgold 41, Chattanoog­a Valley 21

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 21-6 lead at intermissi­on and rolled to a victory at Chattanoog­a Valley on Thursday.

Burdette had 10 points for Ringgold (7-0, 2-0). Massengale finished with nine. Henderson added seven, while six other players scored at least two points in the win.

Alexis Wheeler had seven points for the Lady Eagles (33, 0-2), while Miriam Gaines finished with six points.

Lafayette 27, Chattanoog­a Valley 25

After trailing nearly the entire game, the Lady Ramblers managed to pull ahead when it counted the most as they picked up their first victory of the season last Tuesday.

Michaela Baker had 10 points and Kenedy Ludy added nine for Lafayette.

Wheeler had 10 points for CVMS, while Gaines and Mylee Howard chipped in with five points apiece.

Trion 32, Lafayette 18

The Lady Ramblers dropped to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in NGAC play after a loss on Thursday. Individual statistics had not been provided as of press time.

Saddle Ridge JV 4, Dade County 3

The JV Lady Mustangs hosted the Lady Wolverines last Monday night and pulled out the win as Alesia Leaks scored all four points for Saddle Ridge.

Heritage JV 14, Saddle Ridge 12

Emilee Fountain led the Lady Mustangs with six points, followed by two each from Leaks, Macee Casteel and Lanie Hamilton. Individual scoring for Heritage was not provided as of press time.
