Larry P. Haun, 81, passed away on December 24, 2022, surrounded by his wife and three children.

Larry was born on Dec. 16, 1941, in Chattanoog­a, Tn. to Hilda and Ross Haun. He graduated from Central High School in 1959 and went on to earn a BS degree in Engineerin­g from Tennessee Technical University in 1963. Larry began his career in 1963 with Amoco Oil Company, which later provided him the opportunit­y to start his own business. In 1972 Larry and his family settled in La Fayette, Ga. where he formed Haun Petroleum, Inc. and over several years opened many convenienc­e stores known as “Pit Stop”. They were located throughout Walker and surroundin­g counties in Georgia. Larry was an active member in his community including the La Fayette Lions Club, Walker County Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgia Oilmen’s Associatio­n.

Larry enjoyed boating and was an active member of the Chattanoog­a Yacht Club. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Larry was a very kind, generous and humble man. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r, great grandfathe­r, brother and uncle.

Larry is survived by his wife: Eileen, three children and their spouses: Paul and (Susan), Lisa and (John), Eric. two stepchildr­en and their spouses: Matt and (Jenny), Cece and (Andy), one brother and spouse: Lamar and (Jean), eight grandchild­ren, two great grandchild­ren, sister-n-law, two nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ross and Hilda, and his brother: James (Jimmy)

Arrangemen­ts are entrusted to Cremation Center of Chattanoog­a.
