HERITAGE GENERALS

-

Last Year: 23-14 overall, 11-7 in 7-AAAA Head Coach: Eric Beagles (16th season) Assistant Coaches: David Dinger, Cody Lones

Heritage High School has enjoyed plenty of athletic success over its 15year history and the baseball program is right near the top of the list. The Generals have made the playoffs 10 times, with five Elite Eights in the last seven years, and another big season is expected.

How do you think the region will shape up with the loss of some teams and the addition of new ones?

Beagles: “The region will be as competitive as always with the addition of a quality program like Sonoraville. Cedartown returns basically the entire team that won our region last year. Central-carroll will be another talented team in our region, as well as Northwest, who is always well-coached and I expect that to be the same this year under the guidance of David Redman. I would expect it to come down to the very end when it comes to playoff berths and seedings for the state tournament.”

What is the strength of this year’s team, or what do you think it will be by the time the race for the playoffs really starts to heat up?

“Experience and depth should be our strengths for 2023. This year’s team is highlighted by eight seniors who have played a lot during their

careers. I expect that experience to pay off for us in 2023.”

What is the key or keys to the season for your team?

Beagles: “The keys to 2023 will be remaining healthy all year and players excelling in their various roles this year.”
