How do you think the move to Class AAA will benefit your team this season?
Dunfee: “Georgia has quality baseball in every classification, so even in Class A we were often up against some of the best teams in the state. With that said, Class AAA has more teams that are playing at an elite level, so we will need to fight for every win this year. I welcome the opportunity for our boys to rise to the occasion.”
What is the strength of this year’s team, or what do you think it will be by the time the race for the playoffs really starts to heat up?
Dunfee: “We have a lot of talented players, but as with most teams, the seniors will provide us with a strong foundation. The special thing about this group is that the core of them have been playing together since they were five. It’s my hope that their relationship, combined with their skill, will help lead our team deep into the playoffs.”
What is the key or keys to the season for your team?
Dunfee: “Aside from the obvious, staying healthy is going to be key for us. While we have depth in certain places, an unfortunate injury at a key position would be difficult to overcome.”
