Twelve Sweet 16 state playoffs appearances, seven region titles, two Elite Eight appearances, two Final Four appearances and a pair of berths in the state finals, all since 2010, means this year’s Tiger squad knows it has a big-time reputation to uphold.

How do you think the region will shape up with the loss of some teams and the addition of new ones?

“This region will continue to be very tough day in and day out. There is a lot of good baseball throughout this region and teams will have to show up every day focused and prepared or they will get beat.”

What is the strength of this year’s team, or what do you think it will be by thetime the race for the playoffs really starts to

Walker:

Walker: “Pitching and defense wins championships. We will put a major emphasis on pitching and defense with this group in order to be successful this season.”

What is the key or keys to the season for your team?

Walker: “We have a solid group of upperclassmen returning this season. We must be able to compete and remain healthy on a daily basis throughout the season. Health will be one major key to being successful this season. We have a very tough non-region schedule, per usual, this season. The focus must remain on getting better each day, no matter the result. A growth mindset and keeping the focus on ‘one percent better each day’ will be another major key to our season.”
