CVMS boys rally to earn split with Saddle Ridge

The Chattanoog­a Valley Eagles rallied from a goal down to post a 3-1 win at Saddle Ridge last Monday.

Harrison Gilstrap found the net for the Mustangs early in the first half, but George Bednar booted the equalizer for CVMS shortly before the halftime horn.

Midway through the second half, Eli Shankle slammed one home from 15 yards out to put the Eagles in front for good and Bednar scored his brace with five minutes left to seal the win.

Isaac Hamilton had 12 saves for Saddle Ridge, while defensive standouts included Eli Green and Collin Miller.

In the girls’ match, the Lady Mustangs led 1-0 at intermissi­on and tacked on three more in the second half to score a 4-0 victory.

Cora Lanier netted a hat trick, while Cadha Lanier had one goal. Brilee Wilson had a big night in net to pick up a clean sheet, while other standouts included Alyssa Ball, Rosie Harlan and Melinda Ramsey.

The Lady Ramblers took 17 shots on goal and connected on five of them in a 5-3 win over visiting Lakeview last Monday afternoon.

Aubrey Rape scored twice and collected one assist for Lafayette. Ashley Perdomo, Emma Brown and Trinity Letson also had one goal apiece. Kolbi Johnson and Audry Nez each collected a save in goal.

Individual scoring for the Lady Warriors had not been reported as of press time and no informatio­n on the boys’ match had been reported as of press time.

The Tigers and Lady Tigers recorded road wins last Monday. The Ringgold girls enjoyed a 11-2 victory at Trion as Olivia Giambrione, Gracelee Thorton and Ella Lifsey scored goals.

Meanwhile, the Tigers completed the sweep of the Bulldogs with a 7-2 win. Drew Weber had a hat trick for the Tigers. Santana Hagery picked up a goal and added a pair of assists, while solo tallies were scored by Trey Kirkland, Layton Williams and Xander Strawbridg­e.
