Summer camps set to start up in June

There will be plenty of summertime camps and activities for students in the Catoosa and Walker County areas as several high schools will be hosting summer youth camps starting next month.

RINGGOLD BASKETBALL CAMP

The Ringgold High School Tigers Basketball Camp will be held June 5-7 from 8:30-11 a.m. each day. Doors will open for drop-off at 8 a.m.

Girls, K through rising eighth graders, may participat­e, while ages for boys will be K through rising fifth graders. Participan­ts should use the grade they will be in entering Fall 2023.

The camp staff will include the boys and girls’ high school coaching staffs, along with the RHS team members, while instructio­n will include individual fundamenta­ls, passing, dribble, shooting, offense and defense.

The fee is $50 per camper if received by May 24 and $60 after May 24. Fees for a family of two or more siblings will be $50 for each camper and each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.

Pre-registrati­on will end on May 26, though registrati­on will also begin at 7:30 a.m. on each day of the camp.

HERITAGE SOFTBALL CAMP

The Heritage High School 2023 Softball Skills Camp will be held June 5-7 from 9 a.m.-12 noon each day at the Heritage High School softball field. In case of rain, the camp will be held inside the hitting building located behind the baseball field.

The camp is open to players, ages 5-12, at a cost of $75 each. Checks should be made payable to the Heritage High School Fastpitch Dugout Club.

Campers should bring cleats, tennis shoes, a bat (if they have one), a glove, a helmet and water.

RIDGELAND BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP

The Ridgeland High School Boys’ Basketball Camp will be held June 5-7 from 9 a.m.-12 noon each day.

The camp is open to boys in first through eighth grade at a cost of $50 per camper.

HERITAGE DANCE CAMP

The Heritage 5-Star Dance Camp will be held June 6-8. A performanc­e will be held at noon on the final day of the camp.

The cost is $50 per camper and those that register by May 30 will get a camp T-shirt.

GORDON LEE BASEBALL CAMP

The Gordon Lee High School Trojan Baseball Camp will be held June 6-8 from 8 a.m.-12 noon each day at the GL Baseball Complex.

The fee is $100 per camper, cash or check. Campers who register by May 26 will receive a camp T-shirt.

LAFAYETTE VOLLEYBALL CAMP

The Lafayette Youth Volleyball Camp will be held June 12-13 from 5-7 p.m. each day at Dan Priest Arena (Lafayette High School gym) for upcoming first through upcoming eighth grade students.

The fee will be $40 per camper and sibling discounts are available. Campers who register by May 29 will be guaranteed a camp T-shirt.

LFO CHEER CAMP

The LFO Little Warrior Cheer Camp will be held June 12-14 from 9 a.m.-12 noon each day. The cost is $60 before May 26 and $70 after May 27.

GORDON LEE GIRLS SOFTBALL/BASKETBALL CAMP

Gordon Lee High School will be holding a softball and a basketball camp for girls, June 12-14. Softball will be from 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m., while the basketball camp will run daily from 1-4 p.m.

The cost is $100 each or $150 for both camps. Transporta­tion will be provided from the softball field to the basketball gym for those attending both camps.

LAFAYETTE FOOTBALL CAMP

The Lafayette Ramblers Youth Football Camp will be held June 12-14 from 6-7:30 p.m. each night at Jeff Suttle Field at Jack King Stadium.

The fee will be $25 per camper and will be open to all rising third through eighth grade students.

GORDON LEE FOOTBALL CAMP

The Gordon Lee High School Trojan Football Camp will be held June 13-15 from 8 a.m.-12 noon on each day on Bobby Chappell Field.

The cost is $100 per camper, which includes snacks and drinks each day. The camp is open to students K-sixth grade.

Campers made pre-pay or pay on the first day of camp.

RIDGELAND RIFLE CAMP

Ridgeland’s rifle team will hold basic rifle camps at the school’s indoor firing range June 20-22 and June 27-29.

Students in grades 6-12 are eligible to participat­e at a cost of $40 per camper. Each camp is limited to 12 spots.

LAFAYETTE CHEER CAMP

The Lafayette High School cheerleade­rs will be holding a summer Kiddie Camp, June 26-29, from 9 a.m.-12 noon each day at the LHS cheer room.

The camp is for ages 4-12 and will be $40 per camper. Registrati­on will take place on the first day of camp.

Oakwood Christian Academy will be offering a volleyball camp for fifth through ninth graders, July 18-21 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day at OCA.

LFO DANCE CAMP

The LFO Dance Team Kids’ Camp will be held July 24-26 from 9 a.m.-12 noon each day at LFO High School.

Students in Pre-k through eighth grade may participat­e at a cost of $60 per camper. Additional siblings will be $50 each. Snacks and camp T-shirts will be provided.

RINGGOLD CHEER CAMP

The Ringgold High School Cheerleadi­ng Clinic will be held July 26-28 from 9 a.m.-12 noon each day at the RHS Gymnasium. Check-in begins on Wednesday, July 26 at 8:30 a.m.

The clinic is for kids in Pre-k through fifth grade and instructio­n will include cheers, chants, dances, tumbling, and stunts.

The cost is $65, which will included a T-shirt and snacks. Registrati­on and payment can be done up until the first day of the clinic. However, preferred T-shirt size is not guaranteed for those who register after July 15.
