CHAR­LOTTE — Mrs. Jean Brown Pow­ers, 83, of Char­lotte, NC, passed away Thurs­day evening, the 29th of Novem­ber 2018 at Caroli­nas Med­i­cal Cen­ter - Main sur­rounded by her fam­ily. She was born the 30th of Septem­ber 1935 in Mullins, SC, the youngest of four daugh­ters to the late Oliver M. Brown and Martha Vir­ginia Collins Brown. Jean was a ded­i­cated wife, mother and grand­mother and her fam­ily was her pride and joy and great­est achieve­ment. She was a mem­ber of Star­mount As­so­ciate Re­formed Pres­by­te­rian Church. The fam­ily will greet friends from 1: 30 PM un­til 3: 00 PM, Tues­day, the 4th of De­cem­ber 2018 at Star­mount ARP Church. A ser­vice to cel­e­brate her life will fol­low at 3: 00 PM in the Sanc­tu­ary. Burial will fol­low in Ebenezer ARP Church Ceme­tery. She is sur­vived by her beloved hus­band of 64 years, Ed Pow­ers; her three daugh­ters: Terry Wilder and hus­band, Sam; Cathy Fran­cis and hus­band, Karl and Joy Pow­ers all of Char­lotte, NC. Her six cher­ished grand­chil­dren: Adam, Bran­don, Shel­bie, Wes­ley, Amanda and Michael and one great grand­daugh­ter, Ros­alie; and one sis­ter, Jo Ham­mond of Spring Branch, SC. She was pre­ceded in death by two sis­ters: Ethel Ham­mond and June Wilkes. Memo­ri­als may be made in re­mem­brance of Jean Pow­ers to the World Wit­ness (Mis­sion of the ARP Church) 918 S.
