CHAR­LOTTE — Rev. Wil­liam (Bill) Richard Doser, age 87, of Alder­s­gate Re­tire­ment Com­mu­nity, Char­lotte, died on Sun­day, Novem­ber 25, 2018. He for­merly resided at 605 S. Po­plar Street in Lin­col­nton.

A grave­side ser­vice with inurn­ment will be held at 11: 00 a. m. on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 29, 2018, at Holly­brook Ceme­tery, 302 Holly­brook Av­enue, Lin­col­nton, with Rev. David Wyant of­fi­ci­at­ing.

A memo­rial ser­vice will be held at 2: 00 p. m. on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 4, 2018, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Road, Char­lotte, NC 28207.

Rev. Doser was born Septem­ber 29, 1931, in Cleve­land Ohio. . He was pre­ceded in death by his wife, Ma­bel Sig­mon Doser and par­ents, Wil­liam Earl Doser and Mol­lie Bux­ton Doser. A grad­u­ate of Duke Di­vin­ity School at Duke Univer­sity, he was a United Methodist min­is­ter serv­ing in the Western NC Con­fer­ence. He cre­ated Doser De­signs and pub­lished two books, “Clergy Stoles for Needle­point or Cross Stitch” and “Church Para­ments in Needle­work.”

He is sur­vived by nu­mer­ous cousins.
