GREEN BAY — WI Mrs. Betty Jean Britt Lind­say of Green Bay, WI died Jan­uary 9, 2019 at the age of 89. Born in Cor­nelius and raised in Char­lotte, NC, she was the daugh­ter of Mrs. Lil­lie Mae Britt and Mr. Kelly M. Britt of Char­lotte, NC. She and her High School sweet­heart, Mr. James Boyce Lind­say, were mar­ried in 1949 and had a won­der­ful 60 years to­gether.

Mrs. Betty Lind­say was ed­u­cated in Char­lotte schools. She and her hus­band were sta­tioned at Fort Ri­ley, Kansas dur­ing the Korean War and moved back to Char­lotte in 1954. Betty and Boyce en­joyed va­ca­tion­ing in Wisconsin to visit fam­ily. Af­ter Boyce’s pass­ing, Betty moved to Wisconsin to live with her son Mark and his wife Brenda. Mark and Brenda pro­vided a won­der­ful home and life for Betty as they loved and cared for her since 2009.

Sur­vivors in­clude her two sons Rev. John Paul Lind­say and wife Vicki and Stephen Mark Lind­say and wife Brenda, her daugh­ter Mered­ith Big­gers and hus­band Brad, grand­chil­dren Heather Ho­gan and hus­band Ben, Shan­non Brown and hus­band Chris, Lind­say Bli­etz and hus­band Josh, Matthew Lind­say and wife Katie, Jessica Cook and hus­band Ja­son, Andy Lind­say, and Michael Lind­say. She is also sur­vived by seven great- grand­chil­dren, Kaitlin God­win, Skyler Brown, Colin Brown, Luke Brown, Ja­cob Brown, Bran­don Lind­say, and Nathan Lind­say, and her brother Mar­shall Britt, and spe­cial friends Greg Big­gers, Joyce Helfer, and Mike Lynn. Betty was pre­ceded in death by her brother Al­bert Britt and four sis­ters, Su­san Wil­lit Britt, Martha Marie Britt, Norma Paf­fel, and Ma­bel Paf­fel.

Betty’s grand­chil­dren af­fec­tion­ately knew her as “Maw Maw” She was loved by all who met and knew her. She now re­sides with our Lord and Sav­ior and Boyce in heaven, where we will see them once again and will never be for­got­ten. You are loved by all Maw Maw.

A grave­side funeral will be held at Sharon Me­mo­rial Park in Char­lotte on Jan­uary 17, 2019, at 10: 00 AM, which will be con­ducted by her son, Rev. John Lind­say. The fam­ily wishes to thank all the doc­tors and nurses whom so lov­ingly cared for her in Wisconsin. Also, a deep thanks to our lov­ing fam­ily in Wisconsin for their thoughts and prayers.
