Helen Lori, 95, of Pittston Twp., passed away Friday evening, Nov. 9, 2018, in Residential Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-barre. She was the widow of Archie Lori.
Born in Uniontown, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Krifka Stegura. Helen was educated in the Jenkins Twp. schools.
Prior to retirement, Helen owned and operated Helen’s Beauty Shop in Pittston Twp. She was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston, and was active with many events at the church, including quilting and the flea market.
Surviving are her daughters, Eileen Yeremsky and Loretta Celestino, both of Pittston Twp.; grandson, Robert Yeremsky; sisters, Margaret Kology, Cheektowaga, N.Y.; and Rose Tobin, Kingston; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was also preceded in death by her grandson, David Yeremsky; brothers, Frank, Charles and John Stegura; and sisters, Katherine Petrus, Mary Kologe, Ann Remus and Julia Kurlik.
Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 205 N. Main St., Pittston, to be celebrated by the Very Rev. Gary J. Mensinger. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the church Thursday morning.
