Eugenia ‘Jenny’ Waslasky

Eugenia “Jenny” Waslasky, 86, of Plains Twp., fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2018, the Feast of St. Nicholas, at Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South, Wilkes-barre.
Born in Wilkes-barre, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Martha Krochmuluk Turchin.
Jenny was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-barre, Class of 1950, and was employed by Lazarus Department Store, Wilkes-barre, was an aide for Bayada Nursing, and last at the Wilkes-barre Y.M.C.A. as a child care worker.
A woman of great dedication and faith to her church, she was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Wilkes-barre. Jenny was a kindhearted woman who always had a kind word or compliment about everyone she came in contact with.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Waslasky, on Jan. 6, 2015, and brothers, John and William Turchin.
Surviving are her children, Thomas Waslasky and his wife, Karen, Plains Twp.; Debra Rossi and her husband, Joel, Buck Hill Falls; Kathleen Banks, Inkerman; and Wayne Waslasky and his wife, Michelle, Plains Twp.; nine grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services for Jenny will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with the Very Rev. Paul Wolensky, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Wilkes-barre, officiating.
Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Blanchard Street, Plains Twp.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. on Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
