Ben­nett hits a win­ner at the buzzer for Cough­lin

At Cough­lin, Aaron Ben­nett’s 3-pointer to beat the fourth quar­ter buzzer proved to be the dif­fer­ence as Cough­lin edged Lake-lehman, 42-41, on open­ing night.

Ben­nett and Tony Egidio each scored 13 points for Cough­lin. Jah­sim Hall ad­dded nine.

Max Paczewski led LakeLehman with 13 points. Nate Salus and C.J. Cer­cone each had 11, while Abe Dab­sheh had 10.

Crest­wood 71, Scran­ton 67 OT

At Scran­ton, Ryan Pet­rosky hit a go-ahead 3 mid­way through over­time to put Crest­wood ahead for good.

Mike Palmiero led Crest­wood with 18 points, Pet­rosky fin­ished with 17.

Wy­oming Sem­i­nary 64, East Strouds­burg South 55

At the Ber­wick Ne­spoli Tour­na­ment, the Blue Knights opened the game with a 22-10 first quar­ter en route to the win.

Wy­oming Sem­i­nary em­ployed a bal­anced scor­ing ef­fort with Nick Gan­ter lead­ing the team with 16 points. Jake Koretz added 15 poinys while Dim­itri Gnall had 14.

Wy­oming Area 65, For­est City 42

At Wy­oming Area, Dan Wiedl scored 17 points, and Nick Ru­bino and Jake Green­field poured in 14 and 10, re­spec­tively, in a War­riors win.

Corey Daniels fin­ished with 11 points to lead For­est City.

GAR 58, Delaware Val­ley 52

At GAR, the Gre­nadiers started the sea­son on a win­ning note be­hind Will Johnson’s 25 points, plus 14 from Curon Smith and 13 from Curtis Smith. Johnson sank three 3-point­ers be­fore half­time.

Jack­son Shafer led Dela- ware Val­ley with 21 points and also made three 3-point­ers. Blake Gearhart added 15 points.

Scran­ton Prep 68, Mey­ers 31

At the Xavier Cen­ter, Leo O’boyle scored 20 points to lead Scran­ton Prep.

Rhys Mer­ritt added 18 points for the Cava­liers.

River­side 42, Val­ley West 40

At Val­ley West, Michael Rick­ert’s 13 points helped River­side come away with an over­time vic­tory.

Ru­land Ha­mad scored 10 points to lead the Spar­tans, who forced an ex­tra pe­riod by hold­ing the Vik­ings to five fourth-quar­ter points.

Mount Carmel 60, North­west 42

At the Tri-val­ley tour­na­ment, the Rangers fell be­hind 22-4 af­ter one but bat­tled back to get within nine head­ing into the fourth. But a 13-2 fi­nal frame in fa­vor of Mount Carmel sealed the win.

Jaxon Yaple led North­west with 12 points. Bryce Koser added 10 for the Rangers.

MMI Prep 55, Troy 40

At Sul­li­van County’s Moun­tain Mad­ness tour­na­ment, Matt Marchetti scored 19 point in the fourth quar­ter as MMI Prep ad­vanced to the cham­pi­onship round.

Erie Mcdow­ell 76, Ha­zle­ton Area 69

At Erie, the Cougars lost their sea­son opener. No other re­sults were avail­able by press time.
