John An­gelo Gazey, 70, died peace­fully at Al­lied Hos­pice in Scran­ton on Fri­day, Nov., 3, 2018, after a bat­tle with pan­cre­atic can­cer.

Born Nov. 20, 1947, to par­ents Abra­ham and Grace, John grew up in WilkesBarre, and grad­u­ated from E.L. Mey­ers High School in 1967.

After serv­ing in the U.S. Army, John worked var­i­ous jobs through­out his life, most of which were as a me­chanic or in the au­to­mo­tive in­dus­try where he con­tin­ued to de­vel­oped a love for cars that started in high school. This pas­sion con­tin­ued and was ev­i­dent in his vast col­lec­tion of die cast models.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; brother, Joe; and the love of his life for 45 years, his wife, Loretta.

He will be for­ever re­mem­bered and missed by his lov­ing sons, Tim­o­thy Gazey, Telford; Jef­fery and his wife, Kelly Gazey, Hughestown; and his only grand­child, Gianna, who lit up his world.

The fam­ily, through Kiesinger Fu­neral Home in Duryea, made pri­vate ar­range­ments for burial in Me­mo­rial Shrine Ceme­tery in Wyoming.
