Zanesville part of yard sale
The historic National Road, U.S. 40, will host a multistate yard sale May 28 through June 1 at locations from Baltimore to St. Louis. Nearby, Muskingum County will participate and promote the event with sales stretching from downtown Zanesville to the eastern part of the county on May 31.
Among the items for sale will be the glassware, pottery and collectibles for which the area is famous.
Vendors who don’t have their own spaces along the National Road can rent space for tables outside the National Road Zane Grey Museum. Call 740-872-3173.

Garden to welcome visitors
Garden lovers will get a once-a-year opportunity to visit beautiful Schnormeier Gardens in Gambier from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5-8.
The 75 acres of gardens, on the private estate of Ted and Ann Schnormeier, feature several themed areas, including Japanese gardens, water gardens and woodland gardens.
Visitors will also see several waterfalls, a Chinese pavilion, a Japanese teahouse and a growing sculpture collection.
Admission is free and no reservations are required except for large bus tours. The terrain is rolling and not recommended for those with limited mobility.

Loudonville to host festival
Loudonville will host the Mohican Arts and Crafts Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The free event, in the town’s Central Park, will feature artisan wares including jewelry, primitives, soaps, candles, stained glass and wooden items.

Art museum reopens in Va.
The Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Va., has reopened after a 16-month renovation.
The $24 million project included a redesign of the museum interior and the addition of two wings.
The new wings will house galleries for American and European painting and sculpture and provide more space for a glass collection.
The museum expansion was part of a $45 million capital campaign.
