Museum to fete doughnuts

From 8 to 10 a.m., museum volunteers will serve free doughnuts and coffee at Center and 5th streets at the east end of the depot while supplies last. The effort recalls volunteers who served soldiers in canteens during World War II.
From 11 a.m. to noon the museum will host a “Best Professional Donut Baker” contest with a panel of celebrities as judges. A public judging will also take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Donut Day activities are free. The museum will also be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8, or $4 for children ages 7 to 17.
